Construction of the Zimbabwe section of the 320 km/ 400 kV South Africa to Zimbabwe transmission interconnector which forms part of the total 935 km project across three countries, namely Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

DESCRIPTION

The project will establish a second transmission interconnector between South Africa and Zimbabwe, enhancing the wheeling capacity of the Central Transmission Corridor by 1500 MW. The Zimbabwean section stretches from the South African border to Plumtree in the Matabeleland region of Zimbabwe, close to the border with Botswana.
