DESCRIPTION

The project entails the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a new road new bridge and the construction of new access roads to the bridge. It further involves operation and maintenance of the old Samora Machel bridge, and rehabilitation, maintenance and operation of associated toll roads. The new bridge will cross the river at Benga, about six kilometres downstream from the Samora Machel bridge. Benga is the site of the coal mining concession awarded to the Australian company, Riversdale.
