The governments of Kenya and Uganda and Rwanda have committed to the development of a standard gauge railway that links the landlocked countries of Rwanda and Uganda with Mombasa port in Kenya. This project entails the section from the Mirama Hills border (Uganda/Rwanda) to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
